Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice president, Tian Chua vehemently denied allegations made in an article published by The Star alleging its top leaders of preparing a letter of resignation for the Menteri Besar of Selangor, Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.

“This allegation is false, is nothing but utter lies and a smokescreen.

“MCA and its newly-minted President is also under extreme pressure to not concede the Kajang state seat to other component parties in BN, even though the signs are clear that MCA has yet to regain its footing and is still considered a 'sinking political ship'. “ Tian Chua said in a press statement today.

An exclusive article reported by The Star stated that a letter of resignation dated March 23 had been drawn up by PKR as a way of encouraging Khalid to resign.

It continued to state that the date was chosen as voters will also cast their votes for the Kajang State Assembly seat by-election.

It was also written on the assumption that Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will win in the Kajang by-election, join the Selangor legislative assembly and succeed as the mentri besar.

The Star continued to state that DAP had called for a special Pakatan Rakyat meeting next week to prompt PKR to ‘manage’ Khalid.

The report also stated that Khalid has also been upset by statements made by PKR leaders after Anwar was named as the by-election candidate
