The tripartite meeting involving Malaysia, Australia and China to review the search area for Malaysia Airlines, MH370 is expected to be held in early September.

Communications and Multimedia Deputy Minister Datuk Jailani Johari said the issues for discussion included whether the search area should be narrowed down following the discovery of a flaperon off Reunion Island which had been confirmed to be part of the MH370.

Jailani is also chairman of the MH370 Communications and Media Relations Committee.

"Following confirmation of the flaperon as part of the aircraft, the search area would properly be redetermined and discussed in the meeting," he said.

He told reporters this after launching an Aidilfitri 2015 event organised by the Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) Veterans' Association here today.

On Aug 6, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced that the aircraft part found off Reunion Island, France in July was from MH370.

MH370 went missing while enroute to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur on March 8, 2014.

Meanwhile, Jailani said the ministry had met with more than 50 stakeholders in its plan to amend the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

He said the amendment draft would likely be tabled in parliament in October.
