Individuals who are still stubborn by attempting to travel interstate to ‘balik kampung’ for raya will not only be asked to turn around but also compounded on the spot.

The decision was announced by Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in the wake of the Special Ministers’ Meeting on the Implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO).

“The National Security Council (MKN) has ruled that interstate movement is not allowed at all.

“The police will not allow it. We are not giving opportunity to interstate travel anymore.

“No more.

“Secondly, to this day, as each day of roadblocks, thousands of vehicles wanting to return to the village have been ordered to turn around.

"From today, we have agreed that they will not only be ordered to turn around but also compounded at the roadblock," he said at a post-meeting press conference here Thursday.

According to Ismail, a total of 271,646 vehicles were inspected by the authorities on Wednesday.

Of these, 2,412 vehicles were attempting interstate travel on the grounds of returning to the village and were ordered to turn around.
