Two masked men armed with a hammer and samurai sword robbed a goldsmith shop of jewellery worth RM80,000 in Jalan Mahkota, Friday.

The hold-up was over in less than four minutes.

Kuantan police chief ACP Abdul Aziz Salleh said the robbers escaped in a white Perodua Viva in the incident about 2pm.

He said the robbers had earlier warned the female shop proprietor and a staff in his 20s, not to raise an alarm when they entered the outlet.

Abdul Aziz said the man armed with a hammer smashed the glass display showcase containing an assortment of jewellery before grabbing a tray of jewellery.
