KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran TV3 newscaster Raymond Goh has passed away.

He had been under medical care at a Petaling Jaya hospital for the past few weeks after suffering from a stroke.

Goh, whose Muslim name was Mohd Zaman Goh, is survived by his wife Faridah Teh.

In a statement, Teh said: "It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raymond Goh @ Muhammad Zaman Goh Bin Abdullah who touched the lives of thousands of people in the country.

Raymond passed away peacefully this morning after bravely battling the effects of a stroke.

The funeral prayers will be held at Masjid At-Taqwa, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur after Asar prayer and he will be laid to rest at Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetery today.

Once again, the family of Raymond would like to express our gratitude to his friends and  supporters for the outpouring of love and support during this trying period."

With a career spanning more than three decades, Goh was widely recognised for his role as anchor of TV3's news programme Nightline.
