Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today paid a courtesy call on Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the Presidential Palace in Bogor, about 50 km from here.

The courtesy call, lasting about an hour, was outside the programme schedule of the Deputy Prime Minister's working visit to Indonesia.

Also present to greet Ahmad Zahid and hid delegation was the President's wife, Iriana.

During the courtesy call, Ahmad Zahid was accompanied by his wife, Datin Seri Hamidah Khamis, Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Datuk Ibrahim Abdullah, Deputy Secretary-General of the Home Ministry, Datuk Wan Ali Besar, and the Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia Datuk Seri Zahrain Mohamed Hashim.

Ahmad Zahid is on a four-day working visit to Indonesia since Friday.

It was his first visit abroad since being appointed the Deputy Prime Minister on July 28.
