Barisan Nasional's (BN) Rompin by-election machinery director, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is optimistic that the party can win with more than 15,000 majority votes although he concedes that it will be tough.

Muhyiddin said the conviction was based on the efforts shown by the party machinery which was now in full swing, meeting voters in all areas of the constituency.

"So far, everything has been going on well and no problems encountered within the party machinery. We want it to further improve while issues like the Goods and Services Tax (GST), Felda Global Ventures (FGV), the economy, employment and cost of living have been clarified," he said.

He was speaking to reporters after launching the RM1.5 million Rompin National Welfare Foundation's (YKN) dialysis centre at Pantai Hiburan, Wednesday.

Also present were Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob and YKN Board of Trustees chairman Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.

Muhyiddin said BN's Rompin by-election operations were entering its second phase and deemed more critical, and campaigning would be more aggressive to ensure the 53,294 registered voters in the Rompin parliamentary constituency understood all the issues.

He also urged voters to come out to vote and not be complacent or assume that it would be an easy win for BN.
