PKR President Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail is still keeping mum on PAS uncertain support for PKR in facing the upcoming Permatang Pauh parliamentary by-election.

When asked who among PAS top leaders would attend the announcement ceremony of PKR candidate for the by-election scheduled for April 24, she said: "just wait and see...we don't know yet."

Dr Wan Azizah, who is also Kajang assemblyman, said this when met at the launch of 'Tampil' programme at the An-Nahdhoh Complex here today.

As to who would make the announcement of PKR candidate for the by-election, she said members of the media would have to wait till that day to find out.

The by-election was called following the decision of the Pardons Board to reject a petition for a royal pardon by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim via his family members, causing Anwar to be disqualified as Member of Parliament.

Anwar is now serving a five-year jail sentence for sodomising his personal assistant Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.

The Election Commission set the nomination of candidate for Permatang Pauh on April 25 and polling day on May 7.

At the launch of similar programme in Bandar Perda earlier, Dr Wan Azizah was asked to comment on the report which claimed that five PKR assemblymen would quit the party and make a new pact with former Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

"I have to verify that one first because I do not think so. (You) must ask them, they were the ones who made the claim. I have no idea," she said.

Yesterday, a news portal, Suara.TV, reported that Abdul Khalid was expected to replace Mohamed Azmin Ali as the Selangor Menteri Besar.

The portal also quoted sources as saying a secret meeting between Abdul Khalid and PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang was held in Jakarta to discuss the matter.
