Malaysia's badminton superstar Datuk Lee Chong Wei won the Japan Open for the fourth time at the Metropolitan Gymnasium in Tokyo today.

The 31-year-old world number one defeated the hosts' Kenichi Tago in straight sets of 23-21 and 21-17 in 55 minutes in the today's final, according the the championship's website www.yonexopenjp.com.

Prior to this, he had own the title in 2007, 2010 dan 2012.

The other Malaysian players did not get past the second round in the championship which offers total prize money of US$200,000 (RM646,754).
