Defending champion Datuk Lee Chong Wei stayed on course to defend his title and win his sixth major title this year after booking his place in the final of the 2013 Denmark Open Super Series Saturday.

The 30-year-old world no. 1 clawed his way from a set down to register a 20-22, 21-6 and 21-15 win against third seed, Du Pengyu of China in the semi-final on Saturday, according to the tournament website;www.badmintondenmark.com.

Chong Wei is expected to face a tricky final against another Chinese player, Chen Long on Sunday after the world number two shuttler easily dispatched Thailand's, Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk; 21-18 and 21-13 in the other semi-final.

In the men's doubles, world number five pair, Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong had already crashed out from the US$400,000 (RM1.262 million) tournament after losing against South Korea's scratch pair, Lee Yong Dae and Yoo Yeon Seong in the quarter-final on Friday.

For the record, Chong Wei has won five major titles this year, namely Korea Open, Malaysian Open, India Open, Indonesian Open and Japan Open.
