Nazmi Faiz, 18, a former Harimau Muda B player who returned to Malaysia after abruptly ending his contract with the Portuguese club SC Beira-Mar, is expected to see action in the local league with Selangor PKNS.

He said the decision to terminate his three-year contract was which was signed in May 2012, was done after discussions with his agent from Portugal, Marco Guimaraes and his parents.

His agent Guimaraes, who was present with Nazmi at the Selangor PKNS club in Kelana Jaya said the player and the club had reached an agreement to terminate the contract based on mutual consent.

The SC Beira-Mar player, a Division One club in Portugal said his decision to leave the club and return to Malaysia was not influenced by anyone.

"To me, the decision (to leave SC Beira-Mar) was something that even I did not expect but I feel it was for my future.

"Claims by some that I will return to Portugal after playing here for six months is not true because I have already severed my contract with the club," he told reporters after being introduced to Selangor PKNS players, here, today.

Guimaraes said: "It has nothing to do with the (Football Association of Malaysia) FAM or any other party as Nazmi himself had agreed to terminate his contract with the club (SC Beira-Mar)."

His return to Malaysia surprised many in the local football fraternity, including Harimau Muda A head coach Ong Kim Swee who was instrumental in the player's move to the Portuguese club.

Nazmi said throughout his eight-month playing stint with SC Beira-Mar, he had gained valuable experience and exposure.

"I chose to play for Selangor PKNS because I liked their style of play since I was playing for Harimau Muda B before," said the player.

Meanwhile, Selangor PKNS club president Noor Hisham Mohd Ghouth said a representative would be send to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to sort out matters related to his move to Selangor PKNS, including the International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

Nazmi has signed a three-year contract to play for Selangor PKNS.

The player was initially rumoured to be on a six-month break and would return to Portugal after six months.
