Buenos Aires, Medellin and Glasgow were announced as the three finalists for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games host city, International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge revealed on Wednesday.

Guadalajara and Rotterdam were the two candidates eliminated from contention at Wednesday's meeting of the IOC executive committee, held at the organisation's Lausanne headquarters.

The winning bid to host the 2018 summer Youth Olympics -- an event which features athletes between the ages of 15 and 18 -- will be decided by IOC members on July 4.

The 2018 Games will mark the third edition of the summer YOG after the inaugural Singapore 2010 Games and Nanjing 2014.
