Good team spirit scored the winner for Selangor to clinch the Malaysia Cup.

The success of the Selangor team to bag the Malaysia Cup for the 33rd time after beating Kedah 2-0 last night has been attributed to team spirit, as was evident from the start of the match.

Selangor team captain, Muhd Shahrom Kalam said his team did a splendid job in scoring a meaningful victory yesterday, thus ending their 10-year drought to regain the Malaysia Cup.

"I am truly grateful for this win, this victory is for the team, we played like a family trying to revive Selangor football after the team's previous lacklustre performances," he told reporters after the final match at the Shah
Alam Stadium last night.

Muhd Shahrom said the victory was a gift for the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah who celebrated his 70th birthday yesterday.
