The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) has appointed national former player Vountus Indra Mawan Saniru as the new men's doubles coach.

The 28-year-old’s appointment was made to replace Jeremy Gan, who tendered his resignation on Sept 30.

According to a statement today, Vountus Indra Mawan’s appointment would be effective from Oct 15, and he would act as assistant coach to men’s doubles head coach Cheah Soon Kit.

Vountus Indra Mawan who partnered Mohamad Arif Abdul Latif, was a bronze medallist in the men’s doubles at the 2007 Asian Junior Championships held in Kuala Lumpur.

He also helped the Malaysian mixed team to win the bronze at the 2015 Gwangju Universiade Games.

The Sabahan who partnered Darren Isaac Devadass, won two titles at the Maribyrnong International and Auckland International in 2015.
