A sanctuary worker in Kanchanaburi was captured punching a tiger in Facebook video has gone viral.
The video highlights several tigers with chains around their necks in a demonstration before some tourists at Kachanaburi's Tiger Temple Thailand.

One of the zoo workers was seen pulling one of the mammals before punching the tiger's head in protest of the animal's reluctance to follow his orders.

The footage was filmed and uploaded on Facebook by Pranay Dalmia, who visited the sanctuary centre earlier this month.

Her video caption reads: “'I visited Tiger Temple Thailand a few days ago. It was really depressing to see the tigers being treated poorly. I saw some of the tigers being dragged by the tail and one of the tigers being punched in the face.”

Currently, the video has been viewed more than 5.3 million times on Facebook.

Meanwhile, Tiger Temple Thailand on their official Facebook page shares their gratitude towards Pranay for the footage.

The sanctuary firmly stressed that "it is a rare incident and they are taking steps to ensure such incident is not repeated".

@Pranay Dalmia I just wanted to thank you again for recording this for us as we discussed on the day. We do not condone...
