The 13th Menteri Besar of Perak will be appointed and sworn in tomorrow, said State Secretary, Datuk Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim.

Ahmad Suaidi, in a statement today, said the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, had given his consent for the swearing-in ceremony to be held at Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar at 3 pm.

This afternoon, Perak Perikatan Nasional, which comprises UMNO, Pas and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), submitted the names of three candidates for menteri besar to Sultan Nazrin.

The candidates are Perak UMNO Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Saarani Mohamad, Perak Bersatu chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu and Perak Pas commissioner, Razman Zakaria.

On Tuesday, Sultan Nazrin accepted the resignation of Ahmad Faizal as the 12th Menteri Besar after the collapse of Perak Pakatan Harapan (PH), which was triggered by the withdrawal of Bersatu from the coalition.

A day earlier, Ahmad Faizal had announced that Perak Perikatan Nasional had obtained the support of 32 of the 59 state assemblymen to form the new state government.
