This feature article is powered by MILO®

THE first thing that comes to my mind when I think about MILO® is the MILO® truck that comes to children’s sports day.

As a child, I remember the sweet, cold chocolaty taste of the drink running down my throat and lingering on my tongue.

I loved the taste so much that I secretly queued up again for my second cup of the refreshing drink.

Growing up, I have come to realise the nutritional values of the drink and made it a perfect companion for my breakfast. My friends, who embark on a healthy journey, also drink MILO® as part of their diet.

My colleagues in Astro AWANI also include MILO® as an essential part of their lives, and here are their stories:

Ashwad Ismail, News Anchor

As one of the leading faces of Astro AWANI, it is essential for Ashwad to keep a healthy lifestyle. Part of his mantra is to ‘eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and supper like a pauper.’

Ashwad believes that a big breakfast can have a ‘big impact’ on the rest of the day. Along with his breakfast, which usually contains whole grains and fruits, he drinks a cup of MILO®.

“MILO® is part of my healthy breakfast to power up my body with the 'fuel' it needs throughout the day,” he said.

Even though Ashwad’s job requires him to be camera-ready and keep up with the latest news, he still finds time for sports.

His favourite pastime is tennis, which he does at least four times a week to keep himself physically fit and mentally strong.

“Going through a hectic schedule every day, I need lots of energy and brain power to sustain my pace. MILO® provides the essential nutrients and the right energy to help me focus at work and at the tennis court as well,” he said.

Abdul Hakim Rahman, News Anchor

Hakim is one of those news anchors who seem to have boundless energy. He attributed his energy to his mother, who ensures he eats a healthy breakfast ever since he was a child.

He said his mother always prepares him breakfast at home, be it an elaborate or simple one. A mug of hot MILO® is a must have in his daily intake.

Being in a fast-paced industry, Hakim carries MILO® mini packs with him every day to satisfy his hunger pangs.

“Thus, for me MILO® is the easiest and fastest choice for a quick breakfast and when hunger attacks,” he said.

Hakim is a gym rat who spends his free time lifting weights.

Besides that, he also often engages himself in outdoor activities like running or playing badminton with his friends.

He said, doing such exercises requires him to eat food that provides him with energy and a filling drink like MILO® is always his number one choice.

Linawati Adnan, News Anchor

Linawati’s loven for MILO® started since she was a child. Her mother used to serve her quick, easy yet wholesome breakfast like cereal, toast, biscuit, nasi lemak but always with a cup of warm MILO®.

Now, as a renowned news anchor, a steaming cup of hot MILO® is still her favourite.

“MILO® has become the perfect staple and a quick pick-me-up in the morning,” she said.

As a mother herself, Linawati incorporates MILO® in the daily lives of her children as well.

She said she nourishes her six-year-old and three-year-old with a cup of MILO® for breakfast every single day.

“I avoid processed food as best as possible. Near my house there is this nice little bakery where everything is freshly baked every day.

“I buy breads and pastries on my way back home from work and serve them that with a warm cup of MILO® the next day for breakfast,” she said.

Linawati keeps her children active by taking them to the park and playground whenever possible. She also takes them swimming.

After those taxing activities, Linawati feeds her children a warm cup of MILO® stirred with milk.
