Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) received two accolades at the HR (human resource) Excellence Awards 2015, namely Excellence in Recruitment & Retention Strategy and Excellence in HR Strategic Plan.

Commenting on the awards, FGV Group President and Chief Executive Officer Datuk Mohd Emir Mavani Abdullah said FGV is committed towards excellence in human resources as it recognises the importance of talent management in achieving the vision of becoming a top 10 agribusiness global player.

"FGV has a workforce of over 55,000, including foreign workers, in Malaysia and abroad. There are many challenges as we deal with workers with various skill levels in urban and remote areas where our businesses and operations are located.

“To grow a strong company, we need to ensure that our human resources are managed well. Our human resources need to keep abreast with the latest trends and issues involving workers,” he said, adding that this include career development and welfare.

Hosted by Human Resources, Asia’s leading source of HR-related news, and judged by a panel of HR directors across Asia, the awards were sponsored by the Human Resources Development Fund and Talent Corporation Malaysia.

FGV Chief Group Human Resources Officer Mohd Najid Md Yahya received the awards on behalf of the group here on Sept 17.
