Sebastian Vettel has signed a new contract to stay with Ferrari until the end of 2020, ending speculation about his future.

The deal with the four-time Formula One champion, who leads the current driver standings, follows a one-year extension for 2018 signed earlier this week with team-mate Kimi Raikkonen.

Vettel has been at Ferrari since 2015 and has seven wins and 28 podiums.

The German driver leads this year's world championship by 14 points over Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes.

A statement from Ferrari said the team had "extended its technical and racing agreement with driver Sebastian Vettel for the 2018, 2019 and 2020 racing seasons of the Formula One world championship".

In the third practice before Saturday's qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, Raikkonen set the fastest time ahead of Vettel, with Hamilton third.

Qualifying, which will determine grid positions for Sunday's race, is at 1200 GMT.
