A 23-year old Malaysian female motorcyclist was detained at Woodlands Checkpoint on Saturday after allegedly being found with more than 1.4 kg of drugs.

An officer from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) directed a Malaysia-registered motorcycle ridden by the woman for routine checks upon arrival at the checkpoint at about 4.20 pm.

The officer allegedly found 470 gm of heroin and 980 gm of cannabis inside her backpack, according to a joint press release from ICA and the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).

The drugs were estimated to be worth approximately S$65,000.

The woman and seized exhibits have been referred to CNB for further investigation.
