LADY Gaga is in talks to join Bradley Cooper's "A Star Is Born" reports Deadline.

The film follows the story of a movie star who helps an aspiring young actress find fame, even as his own career deteriorates due to age and alcoholism.

The new Warner Bros remake, which will mark Cooper's directorial debut, will be the third remake of the original 1937 film starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March.

It was remade again in 1954 by director George Cukor and starring Judy Garland and James Mason, and then again in 1976, with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson.

Lady Gaga has so far impressed movie executives with her screen test, and according to Deadline, Cooper is keen to work with the singer and "American Horror Story: Hotel" actress, for which Gaga won an Golden Globe.
