An interim report on the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) probe by the Auditor-General will be tabled to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) this month-end.

PAC chairman Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed said the matter was related to him by Auditor-General Tan Sri Ambrin Buang today.

“I was informed by Tan Sri Ambrin just now that he is ready to table the interim report on 1MDB, as directed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, at the end of this month,” he told a media conference at Parliament Monday.

Nur Jazlan said, PAC did not know when the final report on 1MDB would be ready for tabling.

He said, PAC would not make public the interim report but would instead take it into consideration first.

When asked why on the lack of transparency, Nur Jazlan said it was because the report was based on the PAC's initial investigation.

He denied that Prime Minister's Department had ordered the committee to keep the interim report confidential.

Nur Jazlan added, it would take some time for the PAC to probe the government-owned strategic investment fund because it involves a lot of information.
