KUALA LUMPUR: Aidiladha celebration among the Communications and Multimedia Ministry (K-KOMM) personnel continues today, which for the first time, saw the ministry and all agencies under its purview come together to perform the sacrificial rites.

K-KOMM secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek said the activity was not only a form of worship but also a platform to strengthen the ties among the staff.

"Prior to this, sacrificial rites will only be held separately by our agencies, including RTM, but for the first time this year, we do it all together.

"This can also strengthen the family spirit among the staff and personnel under K-KOMM and its agencies, in line with the Keluarga Malaysia aspirations," he told reporters at the RTM's Muhammadi Mosque at Angkasapuri here today.

Fourteen cows and four sheep were sacrificed and the meat were distributed to the staff and B40 families living nearby.

The activity, which began at 8.15 am, involved 150 participants from K-KOMM's Association of Wives and Women Members of Malaysian Civil Service (Puspanita), K-KOMM Club, as well as the staff of RTM and the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama).

Also present was acting Bernama chief executive officer Roslan Ariffin.
