Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) described the actions of a mother who hung her child's cradle in the public transport as dangerous.

In a statement, the MRT advised all passengers to take safety precautions and use the facilities with care.

MRT added, anyone caught doing damage to public utilities can be fined.

"If an individual or group is caught committing damage to public utilities especially at the MRT station, they may be charged under the Local Government Act 9 by-laws Vandalism 1991, which may result in a fine of RM 2,000 or imprisonment of not more than one year in conviction.

"They can also be charged under the Land Public Transport Commission Act 2010," the statement said.
