JOHOR BAHRU: "You are my hero." These were the words uttered by a three-year-old boy whose right leg got stuck in a toilet drainage pipe at his house at Jalan Sutera Dahlia, Taman Sutera Utama,here last night, to the firemen during the operation to free him.

Larkin Fire and Rescue Station operations commander, senior fire officer II Mohamad Nazaruddin Ahmad Zainuddin said the words were uttered repeatedly by Raydon Koh who was just shrieked in pain but did not cry during the operation.

"We had to cut the pipe using a special tool in order to free the boy.

"It took only seven minutes to free him and the boy did not suffer serious injuries," he told Bernama here today.

Mohamad Nazaruddin said, according to the boy's mother, in the incident that took place at 11.22 pm, her son went to the toilet alone to urinate when he slipped and one of his legs stuck knee-deep in the pipe.

He said 13 fire personnel, one Emergency Rescue Medical Services (EMRS) unit and three Rapid Intervention Motorcycles were dispatched to the scene rescue the victim.
