KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia saw volatile trading this morning, with several counters hitting limit up and limit down.

Rexit Bhd went limit up by 30.43 per cent to RM1.20 per share this morning and APB Resources Bhd went limit down by 30 sen to RM1.75 per share this morning.

The dynamic price threshold mechanism on the shares of Rexit, which provides the electronic link between insurance companies and the Malaysian Road Transport Department, was uplifted from 9.51 am until 10.01 am this morning.

"During this period, orders can be matched within 30 per cent/30 sen up and down of the reference price. The reference price is 92 sen and the upper and lower limit is RM1.22 and 62 sen respectively," according to Bursa Malaysia.

Trading in Rexit securities was halted at 4.17 pm yesterday and resumed trading from 9.00 am today.

As at 3.22 pm today, the counter rose 7.07 per cent to 98.5 sen.

Meanwhile, APB Resource's shares were down by 5.37 per cent to RM1.94 after the dynamic price threshold mechanism was uplifted from 9.29 am until 9.39 am.

"During this period, orders can be matched within 30 per cent/30 sen up and down of the reference price.

"The reference price is RM2.05 and the upper and lower limit is RM2.66 sen and RM1.44 respectively," the exchange announced on its website.

The exchange has also suspended the short selling of Jentayu Sustainables Bhd (JSB) and Tanco Holdings Bhd for the rest of the day under the intraday short selling (IDSS).

The suspension was made after the last-done price of the approved securities of the companies dropped more than 15 per cent or 15 sen from the reference price.

JSB's IDSS was also suspended yesterday. The counter went limit down yesterday and fell 34 sen to 80 sen as at 3.15 pm today.

Meanwhile, Tanco shares slipped 22.5 sen to 43 sen as at 3.28 pm.

"The short selling under the IDSS will only be activated the following trading day on Jan 19 at 8.30 am," Bursa Malaysia added today.
