Another 60 COVID-19 cases in the country have recovered, surpassing the 31 new cases that were reported today.

This raised the cumulative number of cases fully recovered and allowed to be to 5,706 cases or 81.4 per cent of the total number of cases.

Meanwhile, Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the 31 new positive cases in the country brought the total to 7,009 cases as of Wednesday.

“Please note that out of the 31 new cases reported, 10 are cases of imported infections while 21 cases are of local origin, of which 10 are non-Malaysians, while 11 are our citizens.

“To date, 11 COVID-19 positive cases are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Of these, seven cases require respiratory aid,” he said at a daily press conference here today.

Meanwhile, Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah informed that no new deaths were recorded today due to the pandemic.

Thus, he said the cumulative number of COVID-19 deaths in Malaysia remained at 114 cases or 1.63 per cent of the total number of cases.
