Do not lose the country's dignity just because of the interest of China or any matured countries for the country's integrity to remain intact, said UMNO Youth chief, Khairy Jamaluddin.

"We must send a signal to other countries, whatever happens in this country is our business. Don't allow this happen just to be on good terms with bigger countries ... we would lose our dignity and violate diplomacy norms,” he said during a press conference after the handing over of the flag to the contingent leader of the Asia Pacific Deaf Games (APDG 2015) here, Monday.

The games was last held in Seoul, Korea in 2012.

This year’s tournament will take place in the city of Taoyuan, Taiwan from October 3 to 11. A total of 60 athletes and official will be at Taoyuan to compete in badminton, athletics, bowling and football.

Meanwhile, Khairy added that what was said by the Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Dr Huang Kuikang is a big mistake.

On Sunday, socio-cultural adviser to the government Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim said Huikang should not have interfered in the affairs of a country when issuing a statement after a visit to Petaling Street recently.

Dr Rais added that Huang’s statement seemed to interfere with the affairs of the Malaysian government and subsequently outside of the context of the Chinese Embassy itself.

Huang was previously quoted as saying that China was against those who resort to violence to disrupt public order.

"The Chinese government has always pursued peaceful co-existence in international relationship and non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries,” he was quoted as saying, in an interview with news portal, Malaysiakini.
