A husband and wife were found dead with slash marks on their respective neck at a house in Kampung Ayer Tawar, near Seri Manjung, here, on Sunday.

The body of K. Ashahkumar, 36, was found in the living room of their house while the body of his wife V. Panumathy, 38, was found at the back portion of the house.

Perak police chief Datuk Mohd Shukri Dahalan who confirmed the incident said neighbours came to know of the incident at about 1am and notified the police.

"Ashahkumar was already dead due to excessive bleeding while Panumathy who was rushed to the Seri Manjung Hospital by a medical team was pronounced dead upon arrival, also due to excessive bleeding," he said when met here, Sunday.

He added that police would investigate the case from all angles and did not rule out the possibility of both the victims being involved in an argument or were victims of a robbery attempt.

The case would be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, he said.
