The Global Muslim Business Forum is jointly organised by the Sarawak government together with the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific, a leading Asian Think Tank based in Kuala Lumpur; Global One, a UN accredited womens’ INGO headquartered in London; and The Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.

In total, 8 awards were handed out under 2 categories: Global Muslim Business Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award and Global Muslim Distinguished Entrepreneur Lifetime Achievement Award.

This award is an honour and aims to highlight how important global Muslim leaders are especially in making waves in the Global Islamic Economy. In 2022, the Global Islamic Economy remains largely an untapped economic and business opportunity. According to the State of the Global Islamic Economy Report (2020), over 1.9 billion Muslims are spending over USD $2.02 trillion across six economic sectors, led by halal food, modest fashion, media and travel. Islamic finance assets alone were estimated to be about $2.88 trillion in 2019. These opportunities are only growing as Muslims are expected to spend $2.4 trillion by 2024.

WTCKL would like to extend our heartiest congratulations to Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam for this prestigious honour and recognition. This recognition acknowledges that Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam joins a select group of extraordinary global industry headliners, which includes the other two Global Muslim Business Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award recipients namely Dato Mohamed Medan Abdullah and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Inane Awang.
