Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah was transferred to the Penang Hospital today from the Kedah Medical Centre where he was warded last Saturday for an intestinal complication.

He was moved to the Penang Hospital at about 2.30pm, said his political secretary Datuk Shaiful Hazizy Zainol Abidin.

"This hospital has the latest and complete equipment and he will be under the care of more specialised experts," he said in a statement.

Ahmad Bashah was admitted to the KMC after he complained of dizziness while attending a meeting with Kedah state assemblymen at the Grand Alora Hotel at about 7pm on Saturday.

Kedah State Secretary Datuk Bakar Din told a press conference yesterday that the menteri besar suffered from an intestinal complication but it was not serious and he was in stable condition.

Shaiful Hazizy said Ahmad Bashah was in good and positive condition and advised against any speculation over his health.

"The media is also advised to follow developments from the official channel of the (Kedah) State Secretariat and Office of the Menteri Besar," he said in the statement.
