KUALA LUMPUR: Padiberas Nasional Bhd (BERNAS) in continuing its tradition of participating in the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agro Tourism (MAHA) exhibition at MAEPS, will be organising activities and contests which promise attractive prizes to visitors.

In a statement, today, it said visitors to the exhibition beginning tomorrow until Aug 14 stand a chance to win a year's supply of free rice in the Guess the Weight of Rice Competition, which is also the main prize.

It will be held at Dewan A of the exhibition centre.

"The second place winner will have the chance of winning six months' supply of rice while the third place winner will win three months' supply of rice,' said the statement.

According to Bernas, visitors need to only answer several simple questions and guess the weight of a replica of rice placed in the exhibition area to win one of the prizes.

At the same time, the company will also organise a creative photo competition with the theme of rice or paddy photos through social media platforms which also offer generous prizes in the form of cash up to RM1,000.

Not only that, visitors also have the opportunity to test their physical strength to lift rice bags in the Badang BERNAS competition at 2 pm on Aug 13.

According to the statement, in conjunction with the MAHA 2022- themed 'Food Security for the Future', BERNAS will put on display interesting information about its responsibility in preserving the country's rice industry.

Visitors to the BERNAS exhibition site at Laman Padi can also enjoy the deliciousness of the special bubur lambuk in addition to stopping by the Bernas Rice Mini Factory which will demonstrate how rice is processed.
