KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia registered another 2,320 new COVID-19 cases as of midnight Wednesday (June 15), taking the cumulative total to 4,532,632.

According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), 2,316 of the new infections in the country were local transmissions, while there were four new imported cases.

Meanwhile, a total of five deaths were reported with one classified as being brought in dead.

The country's death toll is now at 35,725 since the pandemic started.

Based on the data from the COVIDNOW portal, the Health Ministry reported 1,390 new recoveries, taking the total number of those cured and discharged to 4,473,021.

Currently there are 23,886 active cases, with 38 admitted in the ICU and 22 of those in need of breathing assistance.

The country has administered a total of 7,496 COVID-19 vaccine doses on Wednesday, with 85.8 per cent of the population having received at least one dose, while, 83.2 per cent are fully vaccinated and 49.4 per cent have received booster jabs.
