Eighty-eight students from four universities in the northern zone will be returning home to the central zone tonight, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said.

He said these were students of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP); Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM); Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM); and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in Merbok and Penang.

"They will be using buses that sent students to the north zone yesterday (last night). The bus will be sanitised first before they board it to the central zone tonight," he said at a daily press conference here Tuesday.

In addition, he said, a total of more than 4,878 students would travel home on Wednesday.

"Tomorrow (April 29), a total of 4,878 students will be moving to their hometowns but all are in the same zone.

"A total of 653 students in the northern zone will depart tomorrow night, as well as the eastern zone (1,165 students), Sabah to Sabah (over 2,164 students) and to Labuan (11), besides travelling in Sarawak (833)," he said.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said 790 students from nine institutions of higher learning who were returning home last night have arrived safely at their destinations

It involved the movement of students to the northern zones of Perlis, Kedah and Penang.
