The National Security Council (MKN) will set the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for food delivery services during the month of Ramadan beginning April 24.

According to Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, a special committee meeting this morning had decided that the SOP would be issued by the National Security Council (MKN) in the next few days.

"This morning's meeting decided that MKN would provide the SOP during the month of Ramadan including food delivery services.

"We (the Government) know that there can be orders (orders), so this morning we ask MKN, within two to three days, to issue a SOP for the month of Ramadan including delivery and so on," he said.

However, Ismail Sabri said the delivery radius remained at 10 kilometres as previously stated.

Earlier, he announced that although the Ramadan bazaar was banned, food delivery or e-hailing services including fast-food restaurants were still allowed.

Meanwhile, Ramadan e-bazaar proposals through the methods of ‘drive-thru’ and 'pack and pick up' were not allowed during the MCO period.

Currently, over 40 registered e-hailing companies in the country are allowed to operate throughout the MCO period.
