He had passed away peacefully at his home in Kampung Pulau Melaka, Kota Bharu, Kelantan at 9.40pm Thursday.
Earlier today, funeral prayers were held at 10am at the Tok Guru Mosque in Pulau Melaka, where about 30,000 people were estimated to have attended.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak was among the early ones who attended the PAS leader’s funeral.
PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali and PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli were among the political leaders who attended the funeral.

The body of Nik Abdul Aziz was laid to rest next to the grave of his father, Nik Mat Raja Banjar.
