Perkasa on Wednesday slammed the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) leaders whom he said are more interested in consolidating their power and position instead of fighting for the people.

Citing the recent fiasco involving Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim and PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali on the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) as an example, Perkasa president Datuk Ibrahim Ali said this showed the true colour of PKR leaders.

“It’s like spitting on your own face. If they are given power at the Federal level, surely the fight will be even more intense between PKR, DAP and PAS,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

“Such fights will not guarantee political stability and peace in the country. And remember, this is only the position of PKNS board of director,” he said.

“Imagine then for positions like deputy prime minister, Finance Minister, Home Minister and Education Minister, surely there will be infighting one day. This does not take into account policy matters and personal ideologies,” he said.

He said the truth was Abdul Khalid had been suspicious of Mohamed Azmin whom he said has the ambition to be the next Menteri Besar.

“As the PKR deputy president, Mohamed Azmin has high ambitions and they are not just not about being on the PKNS’s board of directors,” he claimed.

The former Pasir Mas member of Parliament said the PKNS fiasco also served as a warning to the Malaysians to see the PKR’s failure in administration.

Meanwhile, PAS and DAP Selangor had urged that the crisis between Abdul Khalid and Mohamed Azmin be solved according to party procedures as the stability of administration is important to ensure that the Selangor people are not affected.

The leaders from these two parties said they will only intervene if situation remained unchanged without any solution.
