Recently, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S Subramaniam said from Jan until Feb 28, a total of 18,047 dengue cases and 36 deaths have been reported nationwide.

For the same period last year, a total of 4,259 cases and eight deaths were reported, he said.

Seven states which recorded an increase in dengue cases are Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Perak, Sabah, Melaka, Kelantan and Sarawak.

The Health Ministry had also launched the Aedes mosquitos eradication programme at 10 hotspots throughout the country, beginning March 2.

Losing Khairul to dengue has left a deep impact among his his co-workers and family members.
