Some 20,000 job opportunities from 400 established companies await visitors to the three-day Putrajaya Youth Festival 2014 which kicked off here Friday.

Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth Careers Bureau chief, Dazma Shah Daud said on the spot interviews would be conducted at the Jobs Fair section of the festival with the results made known immediately.

"However, if unsuccessful, applicants need not worry as their particulars would be entered into a data bank for possible call up later.

For example, if the Parkson retail chain opens a new outlet, it can call up potential job candidates.

"Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is expected to hand over several job offer letters to those succesful in their interviews tomorrow, the second day of the festival," he said when met at the BN Jobs Fair booth at the site.

He said among the companies having booths at the festival were Sapura Kencana, Maybank and Petronas and that the job offers were for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia certificate holders up to university graduates.
