Datuk Seri Najib Razak said Malaysia will never forget the decades-long support of the Saudi royal family for the country.

The Prime Minister, via his Facebook and Twitter accounts last night, said: "Personally, I would like to thank the Saudi Arabian royal family for their support over the decades. We will always appreciate, and are not likely to ever forget it."

"From the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his respected predecessors, we in Malaysia are fortunate, as we continue to have a trusted friend."

Najib, who is on a four-day working visit to Saudi Arabia since Monday, also hoped the Jeddah Economic Forum (JEF) which he attended, as well as his visit to Saudi Arabia, is one of the various ways Malaysia could reciprocate and strengthen their friendship with Saudi Arabia, in the spirit of moderation (wasatiyyah) and cooperation.
