The body of a university student, believed to have been murdered, was found in a drain at a university campus in Kota Samarahan on Tuesday, making it the second such case within 10 days.

Samarahan police chief DSP Lee Chong Chern said the body of the woman which was found about 6pm, was sent to the Sarawak General Hospital.

Initial police investigations revealed she was murdered elsewhere before the body was dumped in the drain.

Nevertheless, there was no injury on the victim's body.

This is the second time that a university student was found murdered.

On Jan 4, the body of a second-year university student was found at a rented house in Miri.

The victim, according to police investigations, was beaten to death.
