KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad comfortably won the Benut state seat after 52 voting channels were counted, when he obtained 10,508 votes.

Hasni left far behind Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Isa Ab Hamid who polled 4,828 unofficial votes while Haniff Ghazali Hosman representing Pakatan Harapan (PH) obtained 1,147 votes.

Another candidate, Iskandar Noor Ibrahim from Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) only got 132 votes after 52 channels were counted.

Hasni, who is also the Menteri Besar of Johor, first won the Benut state seat in GE12 in 2008.
