UMNO Youth Chief, Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki has invited former Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Youth (Armada) head Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman to join UMNO Youth.

According to him, the invitation was made to Syed Saddiq following the former Youth and Sports Minister’s claim that he refused to join any existing political party including the new party, Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) founded by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Syed Saddiq made the decision due to his experience of political coup issues and money politics practices in Bersatu.

As money politics issues are the reason he made such a decision, then Syed Saddiq, said Dr Asyraf Wajdi, was welcome to join UMNO Youth.

“Oh, apparently one of the reasons Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman left Tun M and Bersatu was because of the burning culture of money politics. If so, let's join UMNO Youth!

"22 months we were destined as the opposition, Alhamdulillah, UMNO Youth has changed a lot," he said in a post on Facebook on Thursday.

According to Dr Asyraf Wajdi, the process of natural screening and purification occurs when UMNO loses power.

“Those who pursue projects and calculate the money first leaves the party supposedly in the name of 'migrating'.

"Those who remain continue to reflect, do self-correction and jointly redevelop the party with a new face and commitment to remove the old culture that is deteriorating for the sake of a struggle," Dr Asyraf Wajdi wrote.
