UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz has greeted talk that Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has formed a new political party with sarcasm.

"I feel sad, the fact that he has to form a new party means that Opposition parties do not accept him," he told a press conference here, today.

Nazri, who is also Minister of Tourism and Culture said Tun Mahathir's action shows that the Opposition considers him to be a liability.

Asked about the call by former UMNO member Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan that dissatisfied UMNO members should join the new party, he said, "I think its good for them to form a new party. Its the legitimate way to oppose the government.

On another note, he slammed Umno Youth for protesting outside the DAP office here yesterday as it did not do any good for the country's political stability.

The protest which includes the throwing of "hell money' at the DAP office was aimed at Taiping MP, Nga Kor Ming for allegedly insulting Islam in his Facebook page.

Nazri urged all quarters to be mindful of what they say in in a multi-racial country although they have a difference of opinion.

"As members of parliament, they must be responsible for their remarks. I like to advise the member of parliament concerned to be careful.

"The sensitivity of all races must be protected," he added.
