National diver, Cheong Jun Hoong missed the bronze medal at the 2015 FINA World Series Diving Championship in Merida, Mexico on Saturday.

The meet is the sixth round and the final stage in the World Championship Series of the edition.

Jun Hoong had to be content with fourth place after collecting 352.85 points in the women's 3m springboard on the second day of the championship.

According to the championship's website www.fina.org, Jun Hoong started poorly when she scored 69.00 points to come in fifth place in the first dive.

In the second jump, she garnered 76.50 points but it was not good enough to boost her position.

The three final dives ended with collection of 69.00 points, 64.40 points and 73.95 points.

The gold medal for the event was won by He Zi of China after collecting 380.55 points while compatriot Wang Han won the silver medal with 363.80 points.

The bronze medal went to Australian diver, Maddison Keeney with 360.50 points.

The national challenge will be continued by national diving queen, Pandelela Rinong in the women's 3m platform on the third day of the championship Sunday (time difference 13 hours).
