Football Association of Malaysia President, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah will leave the issue of early retirement involving four national players to FAM secretary-general and the association's committee to handle.

Citing their decision as bold, Tengku Abdullah said the matter is best dealt by FAM.

When prodded on the reason of their exit, Tengku Abdullah declined comment.

"I know that one day we will retire eventually but their actions are a bold one as they are the main players of the national squad.

"If they have their own reasons, it is best for them to meet the quarters at FAM and we will respect their decision. It is only suffice for us to leave the matter to the secretary-general and the rightful bodies," said Tengku Abdullah when met after an event at Dewan Wawasan, Sekolah Menengah Abu Bakar here today.

On Tuesday, national team captain Safiq Rahim and Aidil Zafuan Radzak, both who play for Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) announced their decision to hang their Harimau Malaya jerseys, and they were joined club teammates S.Kunanlan and Mohd Amirul Hadi Zainal the day after.
