Singapore's Lions XII are closing in the on the Super League title when the invitational squad collected three points in a match at Jalan Besar Stadium after chalking up a 3-1 win over Selangor PKNS FC last night.

The three points enabled Lions XII to maintain their position at the top of the league with 38 points, four more than the nearest challenger, Johor Darul Takzim after 18 matches.

Selangor PKNS FC's efforts to stop the lions under coach V.Sundramoorthy withered when Hariss Harun netted the first goal at the 54th minute.

Lions XII's midfielder, Nazrul Nazari added more misery with the second goal four minutes later. Khairul Nizam sealed the match for the host when he scored the third goal in the 89th minute. Selangor PKNS FC got the consolation goal in injury time (91st minute) of the game through their imported player, Patrick Ronaldinho.
