World Cup fever is officially upon us, but one inventive artist prefers to use her footwork skills for a different purpose.

Malaysian artist and designer Red Hong Yi has created a giant mural of international superstars Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Lionel Messi using a football instead of a paintbrush.

Footage of the creative process shows Yi dipping the ball in one of eight buckets of paint at her disposal, before maneuvering it carefully around the canvas with her feet.

The instantly recognizable players are each depicted wearing their national team's kit.

Yi is known for her atypical approach to painting and often eschews traditional methods for alternative tools such as basketballs.

She has collaborated with clients such as Hewlett Packard, Nespresso and Mercedes Benz.
