Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (SYABAS) said the company had never promised that water supply will be available at 9am at all the affected areas, but only that the process begins at 9am.

Its corporate communications and public affairs assistant general manager Priscilla Alfred said many people were unclear on the supply and distribution process.

‎”I think many people don’t understand. We never said that at 9am, all affected areas will have water supply. What we said was that the opening of the water channel will begin at 9am,” she said in a WhatsApp message to Astro AWANI.

“People in the affected areas in the zones will then get water in stages after 9am until 4pm,” she added.

Priscilla said the water channelling process to the homes of those affected will take time up to 4pm, depending on the location and other factors.

“We forecast that all areas affected by water cuts will be able to get water within that time. But it also depended on the location and usually high areas will take a longer time,” she added.

SYABAS water rationing which began on Thursday, affected certain areas in Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat dan Sepang.

About 70 areas were divided into Zone 1 and Zone 2 in Hulu Langat and Sepang where each of the zone will take turns to get two days of piped water followed by another two days of dry taps.
