The Form Three Assessment (PT3) written test which began today, went on smoothly with 465,674 candidates sitting for the examination at 2,667 centres nationwide.

The test began with the English Language and Mathematics subjects today, followed by English and Science tomorrow.

On Thursday, candidates will sit for the subjects, Integrated Living Skills (technical skills), Integrated Living Skills (home economics), Integrated Living Skills (agriculture) and Integrated Living Skills (commerce and entrepreneurship); Islamic studies, Arabic, Chinese, Tamil, Punjabi, Iban and Kadazan Languages.

SELANGOR recorded the highest number of candidates sitting for the PT3, at 82,160 candidates in 329 examination centres.

In KUALA LUMPUR, a total of 22,261 candidates sat for the examination at 103 centres while in Putrajaya, 1,514 candidates took the examination at 12 centres.

In PAHANG, a total of 24,783 candidates sat for the PT3 at 215 examination centres in 11 districts.

However, the state education department's assessment and examination sector head, Mohd Razali Mustafar said 10 candidates from the Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) Tun Razak, Pekan failed to sit for the examination due to suspected food poisoning.

He said the students involved would sit for today's examination papers at a later date.

In TERENGGANU, 21,794 candidates sat for the PT3 at 151 examination centres, including 15 candidates with special needs.

In MELAKA, state education director Abu Bakar Sahari said 14,460 candidates sat for the PT3 at 83 examination centres.
